 Airport Cultural Art: Birth Ceremony

At the time a woman's first child is born there are special ceremonies: her female elders gather, organize a series of hot baths, and present the young woman to the community in a public ceremony. During this time the infant is cared for primarily by female relatives, who bring the child to the mother for nursing. Care of infants is dispersed among family members, and it is common for children to be adopted by their grandparents.

 It wasn't all sunny! It rained the first three days. It was FREEZING cold the first day scuba diving. Driving out in the boat with wind and rain pelleting us. It wasn't so pleasant. We were excited to jump in the water. It felt warmer. I was glad I had bought a light jacket in Guam.
