Sledding

So we went to Cascade on New years day to go sledding for my birthday. The boys both started crying as we got out of the car and didn't stop until we gave up 15 minutes later. We must have looked totally defeated as we each drug a sled with a crying kid lying flat on their back, up to the car. It's official- Gabe hates snow and Luke has little tollerance for it. Maybe next year. So we went swimming at the indoor heated pool at my parent's cabin clubhouse. That was SO fun. The day was topped off by taco soup and hot chocolate.

Snow fun

First of all, I need someone to give me a lesson on creating cute blog entries. Even though I'm pretty proud of myself for even doing it at all, I need help. I really don't know how i missed getting the computer skills that everyone else my age has. (I accidently made this font blue and underlined , and I don't even know how.)
Life is good! Lucas and Gabe are really playing more together now. The way they stare at each other makes you feel like they remember each other from heaven.
So we have been enjoying all the snow here in Boise. I told Lucas, "You need to go play in the snow before it melts." He said,"It's not going to melt." I said it would because that is how Boise is. Almost everyday now he has said, "I told you so, mom." I'm glad to be wrong. Ben made a snow slide to play on. Luke liked it, but quickly got cold. Gabe cried the whole time, because of the cold and the restriction of his winter coat.

Christmas

Sunday December 23: Choir performance at church. Heather is the Choir director and Ben sang and played the chimes. That night we had a extended family dinner and quilting service project.
Monday Dec 24: Had a racklet dinner with Heather's family. Luke scored 4 transformers from nana (His favorite gift). Finished the evening with Ben's family. Had a christmas program with the nativity. Gabe was a shepard, Lucas was a wiseman, and Ben was the King.
Tuesday: Christmas morning Lucas woke us up after going through his stocking. Then he madly riped through his presents. He was very excited about all his presents. Gabe came into the living room and finished off the half eaten cookie left from santa. Then he started chewing on the end of a rolos candy bar, sucking the chocolate out through the wrapper. He was fighting mad when we took it away (see picture). After present opening, we hosted a Norweign pancake breakfast for Ben's Family and grandparents. Delicious!!! Then we visited with Heather's grandpa and cousin from her mom's side at the VA nursing home . Finished the night with chinese take out. It was a especially wonderful christmas to have my sister Becky and Ben's brother Dan here from out of town. We are super blessed to have so much family to spend the holiday's with.

December Fun!

We enjoyed playing outside before the snow came. Lucas likes to push Gabe on the swing, and Gabe figured out how to go down the slide on his tummy. Lucas always keeps us laughing. Monkey boy!

Santa Claus

Lucas was very excited to sit on Santa's lap. Santa started joking about someone being naughty this year. The other kids in line said, "Not me." Then Luke started confessing to Santa that he had been naughty. Everyone just laughed. Santa asked, "Well, don't you help your mom with your baby brother." Luke said, "No." It was funny. Luke favorite part was the candy cane.
Gabe stared pretty hard, but he wasn't scared of Santa.
Lucas was excited for Gabe to join the party.
This is what happens when I'm trying to get that perfect picture. Gabe just wants to climb onto the stage and Lucas is way into his candy.
Perfect picture! My two buddies!
Merry Christmas!

Brotherly Love

Gabe and Lucas have really bonded as brothers. Now that Gabe is one year old they interact more. Gabe likes to hit Lucas on the head and Lucas laughs hysterically. That picture of Lucas holding Gabe's hand is so cute, but the picture below is reality. Luke loves to tease Gabe and Gabe screams to get Luke in trouble. Gabe is also learning all kinds of fun tricks from Luke like throwing toys and screaming. It makes each day exciting. They really do love each other. Luke loves to give Gabe hugs and kisses. I'm so glad they have each other to be best pals. Gabe: I don't want to take a picture. Let go! Luke: I think it's so funny to hear Gabe scream.
